Course overview

Graduates of the Associate Degree of Exercise and Sport Science will have the knowledge to become allied health professionals who use exercise as an intervention to improve health and fitness, enhance physical performance and prevent and rehabilitate injury in both healthy (including athletes) and physically challenged (such as the aged and injured) populations. 

The associate degree is for anyone who wants to explore exercise and sports science education beyond the diploma level without committing to an undergraduate degree.  

It also provides a pathway for graduates interested in moving into the Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science.

Students will study a variety of units with direct relevance to understanding the benefits of sport and exercise to people of all ages.

  • Students who complete the associate degree can apply for credit transfer for the equivalent units in the Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science, so you complete your undergraduate program within 12 months full time.


The Associate Degree in Exercise and Sport Science will produce graduates who will not only have the necessary skills and training but who will also be equipped to function independently within their discipline.

Graduates will be employable in a variety of areas including sports development, fitness industry, personal training, sports coaching and community recreation across all age groups.
