Course overview

This qualification is the trade qualification for butchers.

This apprenticeship qualification is recognised Australia wide by independent retailers and supermarkets.

The course will teach you about work practices in retail meat enterprises in relation to health, safety, hygiene, quality and productivity. You will learn how to prepare, package and merchandise a range of meat products including prime and specialist cuts.

The program is designed to give you flexible training options.

There is a combination of on-campus and work- experience training. On-campus training at Alice Springs campus includes a range of practical activities in a simulated workplace environment along with theory.
