Course overview

This program is designed for entry level into the Visual Communication Design profession or as a pathway to further qualifications in Graphic Design or other creative areas including visual art, illustration, web design, gaming and design research.

It is based on exploring the fundamental skills required for practice as a Graphic Designer, such as design practice and methodology, creative idea generation, creative practice, image design, colour studies, drawing to generate and communicate ideas and the application of these to technology for print or electronic mediums.

This is underpinned by the integration of design knowledge, as embodied by history and theory of design, and the ability to develop concepts and solutions in response to a brief.
